Swimming Lessons

Avery and Sterling had their first swimming lessons last Friday, Saturday, & Tuesday. Sterling is not quite ready. He was more interested in playing and didn't want to blow bubbles to learn to go under water. Avery did great! Ms. Amy was very pleased with the progress she made. She is swimming on her own and can go across the pool. She can hold her breath very well. Avery is quite the little swimmer!

1st Doctor's Visit

I'm a bit behind on adding to the blog. I have a lot to catch up on. I had my first doctor's appointment with Dr. Corovessis on Tuesday, June 17. So far everything looks good, but I think I'm off on my dates. I didn't keep very good records last month. So, I think I'm about 5 1/2 weeks to 6 weeks along. At first I thought I was further along. I measured 5 1/2 weeks on the ultrasound (uterus and baby). It appeared the heart was just starting to form and blink. I was so looking forward to seeing a strong heartbeat, but it really is too early. I did have blood drawn twice this week to check my Hcg levels and progesterone. Hopefully I'll hear something tomorrow so I know before we leave for Mexico. Next appointment is July 17. Other good news . . .I lost 15 lbs. since my last visit in March!

Ladybug Invites

I finally finished the Ladybug invitations for Avery's 6th Birthday party. Here they are:

Operation Chi-Chi

Well, I guess Sterling has been weaned. I almost thought he would never be weaned! It has now been a week, and he is doing great. He only asks for it once or twice a day, but he seems to understand when I tell him that chi-chi is broken. The funniest thing he told me was "Fix chi-chi" and once he told me to "buy new chi-chi". I do miss cuddling with him, but he is now 2 1/2 years old. Also, I think it had just become a habit for him. At least still likes to cuddle with me when he is going to sleep. My little baby is growing up!

Family Portraits

Well, we finally had our picture made with the 4 of us--Dada, Mama, Avery & Sterling. Oh what an adventure--trying to get everyone ready, keeping the white shirts clean, trying to get Avery to wear shoes other than flip-flops, keeping the hair in place, and getting Sterling to sit still. Overall, I am very happy with the one shot. Juan wanted to purchase the additional poses, but I could have left those. Here they are:

Sterling is such a Sweetheart!

Sterling is such a little sweetheart. He woke up this morning and called me into the room. As soon as he saw me (without me saying anything), he said, "Good Morning Mama." Oh it just made my day!

Then, I asked him if he wanted any juice, and he said, "No Thank You, Mama." Oh my! He's already so polite. I hope he continues.

His language and speaking are really blossoming. He is so precious! Such a wonderful blessing.

Mommy & Avery Day!

Sterling went with Juan to Columbus to work on my parent's house. And, I had such a wonderful day with Avery.

First we went to church--what an awesome sermon. I can't wait for it to be on Itunes so I can share it with others. There was such an energy today in church--truly the Holy Spirit. It was such a great feeling. The music was uplifting. And, I don't think I was the only one who could feel it. I saw it in other's eyes. What a blessing!

Next, we had a nice lunch at Panera and did a little shopping at La Centerra.

Then, we headed to Kohl's and found lots of clothes for our upcoming trip. Avery really lucked out with a lot of cute clothes for summer. I only bought one shirt for Sterling, but I always seem to have a harder time with his clothes. Maybe I'll have better luck at Gymboree or The Gap.

Finally, we headed to Target for a few things. I swear I never can leave there without spending more that $50! And, I still forgot stuff! I guess I'll be heading to HEB tomorrow.

It was such fun to spend time with just Avery. She really is growing up. This morning she came down the stairs and looked taller to me. Well sure enough. I measured her, and she grew an inch since 4/14/08!! I can't believe it. My first baby. . .

Isiah 41:13

For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Do not be afraid. Isiah 41:13

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, , for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isiah 41:10

Surrender
Words & Music by Marc James
I’m giving you my heart, all that is within
I lay it all down for the sake of you my King
I’m giving you my dreams, I’m laying down my rights
I’m giving up my pride for the promise of new life
And I surrender
All to you, all to you
And I surrender
All to you, all to you
I’m singing you this song I’m waiting at the cross
And all the world holds dear, I count it all as loss
For the sake of knowing you the glory of your name
To know the lasting joy even sharing in your pain
And I surrender
All to you, all to you
And I surrender
All to you, all to you

Footprints in the Sand - Leona Lewis

You walked with me
Footprints in the sand
And helped me understand
Where I'm going
You walked with me
When I was all alone
With so much I no along the way
Then I heard you sayI promise you
I'm always there
When your heart is filled with sorrow and despair
I'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand
I see my life
Flash across the sky
So many times have I
Been so afraid ooh
And just when I
Have thought I've lost my way
You give me strength to carry on
That's when I heard you say
I promise youI'm always there
When your heart is filled with sorrow and despair
I'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand
When I'm weary
Well I know you'll be there
And I can feel you
When you say
I promise you
I'm always there
When your heart is full of sadness and despair
I'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand x 2
Oooooo mmmmmmmm
